Our role, as Trustees
Is to ensure that the high expectations and standards of our Academies are maintained. We achieve this by acting as a “critical friend” and providing appropriate challenge and support to the Associate Principals and their staff. We are responsible for overseeing leadership, setting targets for school improvement, monitoring progress and improved outcomes for pupils, assisting in the development of strategy, setting and agreeing budgets and priorities for spending, providing a safe and secure environment in which pupils can flourish and ensuring current legislation is embedded in our day to day activities.
The full Board of Trustees meets termly as do the Audit and Finance Committees. The Pay & Personnel Committee meets once per annum to review staff pay awards and on an ad hoc basis to deal with personnel issues as necessary. All Trustees undergo a DBS check on appointment and receive training throughout their term of office to enable them to undertake their roles effectively.
